PTO 2021-2022 Board Elections

Candidates for 2021-2022 AIMS PTO Board

Dina Dalibalta

A proud mom of two AIMS owls, Perla & Lamitta Elsiss (3rd & 1st grade). We have been part of AIMS family for four years and we love it!! A little bit about my background; I have a BS in Telecommunication & Electronics Engineering from Beirut Arab University, MS in Network Communications and MS in Project Management from University of Houston. Recently, I have been working as an IT Analyst/Consultant for non-profit organizations.

I am very passionate about volunteering and giving to the school, and will always do! I am the Vice President of the current PTO board. I have chaired and volunteered in several PTO capacities and school extracurricular activities, such as Arabian Nights & Silk Road festivals, Arabic Literacy Committee, AIMS Children Arabic Chorus, Odyssey of the Mind coaching…etc.

I enjoy music, arts, yoga, traveling and most importantly, food & fun!

Vice President:

Kana Kimura

My name is Kana Kimura, and I am honored to have been nominated for Vice President of your AIMS PTO! I have been an AIMS parent for 5 years now, and I have seen how much the PTO impacts our school in a positive way. It has provided so much support for the teachers and their classrooms, and I am excited about helping to continue- and grow!- that support. Thank you for all that you do as part of the AIMS family!

Carly West

Parents of AIMS, I am Carly West, and currently nominated for the treasurer position.  I currently have 2 students at the school, Amelia in 4th grade and Vivian in 3rd.  Hopefully next year their brother, Foster, will join them and be in PK4.  We started our AIMS journey the year the school opened when Amelia was in PK.  I have previously held the Secretary position on PTO board. In that time, I helped organize the first Fun Run amongst other activities.  I am currently a member of the SDMC and helped with the development of the Spark Park in that capacity.  Over the next year, I hope to help both the PTO and AIMS continue on its path of excellence.

Secretary: Hana Hamed

Hana Hamed

My name is Hana Hamed.  We joined AIMS community two years ago; we sought the opportunity to give our children the gift of being bilingual.  My husband and I are originally Palestinians and learning Arabic is helping our children connect with our culture.  We have our triplets at the school, my daughter in first grade and my two boys in Kindergarten.  Being part of the school in simple ways allowed me to see firsthand the dedication of the teachers, staff, and parents to the school.  This is my first-time seeking office, and I am excited for the wonderful opportunity and I look forward to become a more active participant.

Professionally I worked in the Oil and Gas industry before taking a break to be home with my family and peruse a higher education.

Patrycja Adamowicz Alshahrouri

My name is Patrycja Adamowicz Alshahrouri, I am from Poland. I’m a wife and a mother of two, half polish half Palestinian kids, Miral (7 years old, 1st grade at AIMS) and Amin (3.5 years old, to be at AIMS). I’m currently doing my master of Fine Arts at HBU and I specialize in ceramics, specifically in porcelain. I would love to be more involved and keep improving our school. As for now, I will do my best to promote events and activities that are happening at AIMS. I would also promote Arabic at outside the school fun activities/events that parents and students would be interested which will open the door to the culture and language.

I am very invested in AIMS because I believe there should be more schools like it all over the country for all Americans to appreciate the beautiful Arabic language and culture.

Please Vote Today!!  Election ends at Midnight, June 6!
